Dear Folks,

That mission to Tuy Hoa was cancelled this morning and we were put on standby for a mission to Da Nang. Well, I was just down the club and Sylvester said we have a 6:15 am takeoff tomorrow morning for Binh Tuy which is in the opposite direction from Da Nang. I came back here and asked Davis what the story was. He said we have a 7:15 takeoff for Da Nang. Sylvester was a little drunk when he told me so he's probably wrong. I take that back, he was a lot drunk. But even drunk he may know more than Davis. Davis is an E-6, Sylvester is an E-5. You have to take that into consideration. You've got to be pretty dumb to stay in the Army long enough to make 6. I guess I'll find out in the morning.

The mission sheet says 7:15 am takeoff but it doesn't say where to. I'm supposed to be at operations at 6 in the morning. It's only supposed to be a one day mission so I'm not packing anything.

It never fails. They always pick Saturday night or Sunday for a mission. It always happens that way.

Got two letters and a tape.

Rick
