Dear Folks,

Running late today because I was figuring my finances I've got guard duty on the conex 12-6 tomorrow morning, so I'll have the morning off. During that time I plan to get a commanders certificate for $577. I'll send $500 home. And I'm going to order a slide projector shipped home. Should arrive within 45 days of when the order is received. Also needs some money orders for information and maps from the Appalachian Trail Club. That will leave me with about $200 to spare. I doubt if I'll actually need that much but I'll hang on to it till the end of the month just in case.

June has proven to be a fantastic month. It poured rain for about 2 hours starting at one this afternoon.

I got a roll of black and white film. As soon as I finish the roll of color I have in my camera now I'll put Seacord to work.

Read that book "Man's Search for Meaning." that you gave me when I came over here. It was mentioned in that book by Dr. Peale so I figured I might as well read it. Now I'm reading "Gypsy Moth Circles  the World" about a guy who sailed around the world alone. I plan to put a big dent in that on guard duty tonight. Off and on I've been reading "Vietnam: A political history" It's an awful long boring book. I'm about half through. In the mean time Oceanography keeps getting put aside for lack of decent time and place to work. I will get to work on it. Just waiting for a day off.

Got one letter today. Time now to take a shower and get ready to relieve Duff on guard duty.

Rick
