Dear Folks,

Arrived here about 8:30 pm. Had a bumpy ride back. I flew one mission to Hue/Phu Bai this morning and from there to our area of operation near Quang Tri and then back to Hue/Phu Bai and from there to Da Nang. Counts as three missions because of the three landings. It was just another practice. I never did turn on the radios. We got a call right after we got up there to return to Da Nang. And when we got back to Da Nang we got the word to return to Long Thanh. So here I am. I guess the Black Panthers didn't need us after all. We're on 4 hour standby down here now.

It's a good thing though because I'm out of money anyway. I've got about $2 in chits that are good at our club plus the 60 cents I brought back with me. I think they have the orders made up for that last 20 day trip to Da Nang so I guess I ought to go try and collect that $40 if I can get the orders. Also wouldn't mind collecting for these last seven days but I doubt if they have the orders made up yet.

I think I'll wait up till 11:30 and get some midnight chow. I'm starved.

Pxxxxxxxx isn't in this room any more. He may have gotten a drop. His corner of the room is empty. That's one less pothead to worry about.

Found 4 letters in my mail box. According to them you don't even know I went to Da Nang yet. The package you sent should be here by now. I'll check tomorrow.

I can tell I'm home. That first round of Bearcat artillery about sent me through the roof.

Guess that's it for now. Today Long Thanh. Tomorrow, who knows?

Rick
