Today would have probably been another good day except all my batteries went dead. I tried all day to call Long Thanh and have them send some more to me, but I couldn't get through. The telephone service here is really lousy. And since today I would have wanted them to call me, they didn't call to check how I was doing. So that's one more day delay. I'm going to have to do some awful quick work if I'm going to get out of here by payday.
I understand we have a new first Sergeant at Long Thanh. I don't know much about him except that he's black.
Well, I'd better cut this short. I can hear the wind picking up outside. Got to get the letter mailed before it starts raining.
181 days to go
