Dear Folks,

Seacord bought a stereo tape system while we were gone and it's breaking my eardrums. Kelm is sitting on the edge of his bed doing exercises while I 'm sitting here trying to write a letter without going crazy.

Well, I'm back down in Lifersville again. I don't know whether things have gotten any better or not. Doesn't really matter that much to me anyway. Somebody threw a tear gas grenade in Sgt. Cox's hooch the other day while we were up north. They're talking about putting guards in the company area now.

Seacord has a new job now from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. He is in charge of the photo lab. Photography is his 'thing' so I guess he enjoys the job. The only trouble is he still has to work in Avionics during the day.

I got another roll of slide film ready to mail to Wards. Finished it off today.

I got four letters today from the 30th and 1st. I got the ones you wrote on the 2nd last night in Da Nang. Crazy mail service.

As far as the award goes it may take forever, if ever, to get it. It's all talk. I've even heard the officers mention us getting Distinguished Flying crosses. We'll probably be lucky to get an ARCOM. I'll believe it when I see it.

I can hear the artillery at Bearcat. It's going to take a while to get use to that again.

It's cool here now but during the day it's really hot. I may just keep that fan!

Back to work in Avionics tomorrow. So long for now.

Rick
