Dear Folks,

That rain last night really cooled this place off. It's chilly this morning. Still cloudy of course. We're still on standby. There was a live band at the Rice Paddy Inn last night. I think they were Korean. They sang mostly American songs though.

Met two guys from my 05C class last night. They came over on the same plane with me but I hadn't seen them since I left 90th Replacement. They're going to be assigned to this unit where I'm staying right now. They have been traveling all this time.

Haven't received any mail yet. Most likely it will be another week or so before I do. It takes about 4 days for a letter to go from here to the states. I imagine it's about the same time coming from the states to here. While I'm up here at Da Nang the only time I'll get any mail is when they send a plane up from the Aviation Detachment and somebody remembers to put the mail on it.

Rick

P.S. Here is a nickel for Jean. After I broke a few dollars my wallet started bulging with them.
